Do Nigerians Play Football For A Living Or For Passion?

Nigeria is a great country in a great continent where football is one of the most popular sport.

However, the general notion is that our known Nigerian footballers play for a living throwing the passion aside.

At this juncture, I know a lot of TAB readers especially the guys are ready to pick up discussions with me. Don’t forget we are using Nigeria as a case study here, where we don’t have standardize football academies and where we believe every child must pass through school in other to succeed in life, unlike most European countries.
Most successful footballers today, the likes of Mikel Obi, retired players Jay Jay Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo who were among the top 10 highest earning African players had one time in their life denied themselves long hour sleep in order to train at the football pitch simply because football is their passion, before they in turn made it a living.

Likewise the little children and teens we see on the street too, even though they might not be well-grounded in the rules of the game, they still play football because it their passion. They love it.

Think about this: how well does the federal government make provisions for the Nigerian footballers compared to other European countries?

The passion Nigerians have for football is amazing. Nigerians do not only love football, we live football.
